Street Performance is a series of duets between a human and a building module that has been dislocated from the public space that hosts the movements.
Rather than performing with another human, a module from the street itself serves as a collaborator with its mass, geometry and texture. Leading and following, the bodies continuously negotiate their agency with one another within a specific site.
This performance occurred with a paving stone that was found directly at the site of recording. Although the two pallets of bricks had been stored there for over a month, by the following afternoon the pallets were suddenly removed—movements with a single brick instigated the movement of approximately 1700 others.
Duets with building modules in Moabit became a daily practice while in residence at ZK/U between the months of January and April of 2021.
