Through the practice of severing a dog's tail, otherwise known as "docking", the complex intersection of companionship, service, and obedience in the human-canine bond is revealed.

Tail docking (mostly outlawed now) claimed to be a functional operation meant to protect a working dog from injury by severing its tail—interestingly, the removal of the creature’s emotive appendage also marked its status as a labor animal.

Docking Station (S1_1M) suspends a tail somewhere between the state of being severed, but also plugged in, to perform a choreography that moves through fragile expressions with militant precision.
