Street Performance is a series of duets between a human and a building module that has been dislocated from the public space that hosts the movements.
Rather than performing with another human, a module from the street itself serves as a collaborator with its mass, geometry and texture. Leading and following, the bodies continuously negotiate their agency with one another within a specific site.
The clip shown here took place in the park outside of ZK/U Center for Art and Urbanistics with a paving stone that was found at a nearby construction site and was temporarily brought to move with in the plaza.
Duets with building modules in the park became a daily practice while in residence at ZK/U between the months of January and April of 2021.
